Sweet sounding pop song, the musical equivalent of people watching.

It came about when I played two wrong and previously unknown, to me, chords. they sounded so good and form the core of the song.

The piano in the instrumental breaks was constructed digitally, and experimenting came up with the slightly jerky result.

Lyrics

V1

Hey, You

What you running from, where you running to what you running for?

Are you going somewhere or running away?

Are you getting ahead or escaping the past

What’s your story to tell

What you running for

What you running for

What you running for

V2

Hey, You

What you looking through, what you looking at what you looking for?

Are you lost in the dark or guided by light

Can you see where to go or see where you’ve been

What’s your story to tell

What you looking for

What you looking for

What you looking for

Chorus

We’ve all got a story that we could tell

Of living and loving and dying as well

We’ve all got a story that we could tell

What’s your story to tell

What’s your story to tell

V3

Hey, You

Are you stopping soon are you stopping here what you stopping for

Have you come far enough or found what you want

Are you living the dream, or just giving it up

What’s your story to tell

What you looking for

What you stopping for

What you stopping for

Chorus

We’ve all got a story that we could tell

Of winning and losing and laughing as well

We’ve all got a story that we could tell

What’s your story to tell

What’s your story to tell
