I wanted do try a blues type song, Gary Moore style. The guitar was digital and initial attempts at 80 beats per minute sounded painful. I upped it to 120 bpm, added a heavier rhythm guitar, and it worked, but lost most of the blues sound! The middle guitar solo was never meant to sound like Mike Oldfield, it was a fluke.

Lyrics

When you walked out my life, you thought that I’d be blue

But You didn’t see me when I held the door for you

You took all your things, you took half of mine

I’m not gonna bitch, I’m not gonna wine

V2

I was standing at the door as you turned your back on me

No longer bound by you my life will be care free

You’re leaving me in peace, The fighting now will cease

My life will be my own, In a place I can call home

Chorus

Ooh I made it through the storm

Ooh I see life’s bright new dawn

V3

When you walked out my life you thought that I’d see red

You just didn’t see me when I felt relief instead

You left me with a load of debt, I let you go without regret

Its better you’re not here, there’s not a single tear

V4

Now that you have gone. You think that you have won

You wanted to hurt me, but it’s hard for you to see

I’m not a broken man, my future has a plan

To live my life my way make the most of every day

 Chorus

Ooh I made it through the storm

Ooh I see life’s bright new dawn
